Professor Knothe Tate joined graduate student Sarah Evans in San Sebastian to carry out mechanobiochemistry experiments with Dr. Ralf Richter, as a basis for engineering multifunctional, living barrier membranes.
Winding her sabbatical year to a close, Professor Knothe Tate accompanied the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation study tour of leading German cultural, academic and industrial institutions.
July 2011
Professor Knothe Tate was awarded the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Life Sciences Award 2011, at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. The award and associated grant funding will enable further development of a recently developed (patent pending) periosteum substitute membrane implant.
